Joe immediately moved away from her. "Thank god said Joe panting, I would never have forgiven myself if I had done this to her.”
Vincent arrived at the warehouse unnoticed and heard voices. Locating the main power switch the warehouse was enveloped in darkness.
In the dark Joe heard growling, roaring, tearing sounds and screams. He had no idea what was going on. Than all was quiet. Going over to Catherine, he felt her stir again and whisper "Vincent.”
Turning to reach her, he tried to reassemble her clothes as best he could.
A moment later Joe heard this astounding voice in the darkness. "Catherine I am here going over to her.”
"Vincent I was so afraid but I knew you would find me.”
"Mr. Maxwell you seem all right.” "I am a friend of Catherine’s.’ "I will take care of her.” "Stay here a few moments until we leave.”
"Wait who are you and how did you find us.”
"I am a friend Mr. Maxwell and Catherine led me to you.”
"Vincent who are you talking too Catherine asked?”
"Your boss Joe Maxwell.”
"I am sorry Vincent but I know of no one named Joe Maxwell.”
"Oh Vincent my head hurts can we go home?”
"Yes Catherine I will take you to see father.”
"We can see him first than can we go to our chamber I need to be with you.”
Lifting her in his arms, he addressed Joe. "Mr. Maxwell you don’t know me, but I promise you I will keep Catherine safe.” "She has told me about you but it seems the bump on her head has made her forget who you are.” "I am taking her to a safe place to be cared for.” "Do not try to follow us.” "Someone will contact you on her condition.” "Goodbye and Catherine and Vincent vanished into the night.
Joe ran out of the dark warehouse shortly after they left but he found no sign of them anywhere. "Thank goodness that guy whoever he was came when he did.” "Catherine knows him so I will try not to worry about her. Going to the car, he sat down and sighed what a night and he called for backup and an ambulance.
Arriving Below Vincent took Catherine directly to father’s chamber. "I’ll get my medical supplies and summon Mary.” "We will meet you in your chamber Vincent in a few minutes. Laying Catherine gently on his bed Vincent asked how she was doing.
"Other than a headache, I am fine now that we are home.”
Before Vincent could comment father and Mary entered his chamber.
"So dear I hear you got a nasty bump on your head?”
"Well father you heard correctly I do.” "It hurts but I feel OK.”
"Good and he examined her. "The bump will be around for awhile but your vital signs are fine.” "You will make a complete recovery.”
"Thank you father, now where is that husband of mine I need him”
"Your husband” father stammered.
"Yes father, Vincent my husband.”
Looking at Vincent than at Mary and back to Catherine, father said, "Vincent is here but you two aren’t.”
Touching father’s arm to silence him, Vincent said "I am here my love, and he took her in his arms.”
"Come Jacob said Mary, let us leave them alone.” "They had a trying day and they left Vincent’s chamber.”
"Oh Vincent I was so scared.” "Thank you for saving me.” "I love you so my husband” pulling him toward her for a kiss. Vincent knew Catherine was not herself. The bump on her had affected her memory but he could not resist the feel of her soft lips upon his and returned her kiss. When he felt her tug on his belt he broke the kiss. Panting, "Catherine you need to rest. Gently removing her hand, he stepped back.
"No Vincent I need you caressing him everywhere her little hands could reach.
His desire igniting "Catherine please you really do need to rest.” "You went through an ordeal tonight.” "Rest now.”
Smiling she said, "yes I am a little tired but we will continue this., touching the bulge in the front of his pants, later.’ Closing her eyes she immediately fell asleep.
"What am I going to do, looking at the lovely woman sleeping in his bed?" " I can love her now as I always wanted to.” "She is expecting to make love to her husband later tonight.” "I cannot do this with her.” When Vincent felt it was safe to leave , he went to see father.
"Come in son.” "How is Catherine doing?”
"She is fine but, slightly blushing, she thinks we are married and wants us to make love.”
"Oh I see, son, trying not to smile. "What are you going to do?”
"Father I cannot make love to her not like this.” "She is too vulnerable and doesn’t know the truth” "The bump on her head did something to her memory.” "I will be there for her in everyway but one.” "It will be hard but I will do it.”
"Well son I hope you can.” "Catherine is a very persistent woman.”
"Yes I know father but I can handle it.”
"Son just remember she needs time to recover.” "She is going to need you.” "Good night son.” ‘I will see you in the morning.”
Returning to his chamber he closed the tapestry and changed into his nightshirt. Sliding in bed next to Catherine, he put his arm around her and fell asleep.
